Intel has officially introduced the Core Ultra 200S Plus series, targeting a March 26, 2026, retail launch. The lineup is led by the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus ($299) and the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus ($199), representing a significant price drop compared to their predecessors. Both chips feature an additional four efficiency cores (E-cores) and a boost of up to 900 MHz in die-to-die frequency. Intel claims a 15% gaming performance uplift, largely aided by a new “Binary Optimization Tool” (iBOT) that translates and optimizes software code in real-time. These processors remain compatible with existing 800-series motherboards while pushing memory support to DDR5-7200. This refresh signals Intel’s aggressive move to reclaim the mid-range gaming market from AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series.
