Nostalgia and bricks are colliding this December, according to a prominent LEGO leaker. Reports suggest that a LEGO PlayStation 1 console set (Set #72306) is slated for a holiday release with an estimated price of $159.99. The set reportedly consists of approximately 1,911 pieces and recreates the original mid-90s “grey box” console, complete with at least one wired controller and possibly a memory card. This follows the success of LEGO’s previous console replicas, like the Nintendo Entertainment System and Atari 2600. While Sony and LEGO have yet to issue an official confirmation, the piece count suggests a highly detailed “Adults Welcome” build that captures the tactile buttons and disc tray of the hardware that revolutionized 3D gaming.
