Rabbit, the startup behind the R1 AI handheld, is shifting its focus toward developer tools with the announcement of Project Cyberdeck. This retro-futuristic mini-laptop is designed specifically for “Vibe Coding”—the practice of generating software via natural language and AI agents. The hardware features a 40% mechanical keyboard and a rugged, clamshell design inspired by classic sci-fi “cyberdecks.” The device will natively support Claude Code and other CLI-based AI tools, allowing users to build and deploy applications without traditional manual typing. While specs and pricing remain under wraps, the project represents Rabbit’s attempt to pivot toward high-utility hardware after the mixed reception of their initial consumer AI companion.
